A hotel in a frontline town. A man and a woman, both military personnel, who have recently met, decide to spend a night of love together. Awkwardly communicating with each other, they learn that neither of them drinks alcohol and both take pills. She takes sedatives, he takes sleeping pills. The man clumsily tries to create a romantic atmosphere, but fails. The woman reassures him, and they kiss. During a tender kiss, the woman becomes frightened by this intimacy and goes to take a shower, leaving the man alone in the room.
