Full of idealism, doctor Katrin Berger runs a bush hospital in Namibia together with her colleague Sam. Sensitive Sam feels much more than just collegial friendship for Katrin, but just as he is about to finally reveal his feelings to her, the urbane Stefan, the twin brother of Katrin's late husband, turns up unexpectedly.
