Bennati is perhaps best known for the giallo film L'assassino ha riservato nove poltrone (The Killer Reserved Nine Seats, 1974), a thriller set in a haunted theater where guests are mysteriously murdered. His work often explored suspense and psychological themes, contributing to the Italian genre cinema of his time.
