Lakis Komninos (Agra, Lesvos, 4 June 1944) is a Greek actor. His real name is Apostolos Pastos. He was born and raised in Lesvos, but his family's origins are from Kefalonia. He studied for two years at the Pelos Katselis Drama School and then graduated from the K. Michaelides Drama School. He also attended Film and Theatre courses at the Illinois Academy of the Arts in the USA. He made his theatre debut in the tragedy Antigone and in the film Egoism (under the name Lakis Pastos).[1] He distinguished himself in cinema in roles of a handsome and fatal man, "leader of the bad guys", a spy - agent, a foreigner (German or English) or a young man of wealthy origin. In the 1970s, he starred in cosmopolitan films, some of which had an international cast and a high budget for Greek standards, while they were also released in countries other than Greece. On the radio, Komninos participated in broadcasts and as a narrator in numerous documentaries. In 1975, he founded his own production company, Pantheama, which since 1996 has continued its activity under the new title Media Team. He has also been involved in directing. After PASOK came to power in 1981, he became director of YENED until its abolition shortly afterwards, in November 1982. He was the first and only director of YENED who was not an Army officer. His wife was actress Dina Trianti, with whom he had two children, George and Giannis. With his later wife, journalist Georgia Kontrarou, he had a third son, Dimitris. His nephew (son of his sister) is the well-known director Vassilis Mazomenos and his first cousin is the singer and writer Dora Giannakopoulou.
