Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of modern Turkish horror, he helped popularize Islamic supernatural themes in cinema, drawing on djinn folklore, possession, and black magic to create a distinctly Turkish style of horror. His films, particularly the later Dabbe entries, earned an international cult following through streaming platforms and introduced global audiences to Turkish found footage horror.
