Dean Elliott is an Australian animation supervisor at Framestore Melbourne. Elliott's formal training includes a Diploma of Illustration from the Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE and specialist animation education at the Victoria College of the Arts, where he completed an Ed Hooks Acting for Animators masterclass. Elliott began his professional animation career in the early 2000s at Momentum Animation Studios and Act 3 Animation in Melbourne, where he worked as a senior animator, storyboard artist, concept artist, and generalist. He later joined Digital Pictures Iloura and Dr. D Studios, contributing as an animator and senior animator on feature films including Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (2010), Happy Feet Two (2011), and Emperor (2012). From 2012 to 2021, Elliott was a key member of Iloura, progressing from Senior Animator to Lead Animator. At Iloura, he worked on numerous high-profile productions, including Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), Ted 2 (2015), The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water (2015), Underworld: Blood Wars (2016), Mary Magdalene (2018), Christopher Robin(2018), and A-X-L (2018). Elliott also contributed to episodic television visual effects, most notably Game of Thrones (2011), for which he worked on episodes during the 2016–2017 production period at Iloura. His animation work on the episode "Battle of the Bastards" was recognised with a 2017 Annie Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Character Animation in a Live Action Production, shared with Nicholas Tripodi, James Hollingworth, and Matt Weaver. In 2021, Elliott joined Method Studios as an Animation Supervisor, supervising animation on major studio films including Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), Terminator: Dark Fate (2019), John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), Candyman (2021), The Tomorrow War (2021). He continued in supervisory roles on projects such as Elvis (2022), Three Thousand Years of Longing (2022), The Greatest Beer Run Ever (2022), and Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile (2022). Since joining Framestore, Elliott has served as Animation Supervisor on both film and television projects, including Leave the World Behind (2023), Ted (2024), Thunderbolts (2025), Mortal Kombat (2025 and The Sheep Detectives (2025).
