
Paulina Villavicencio graduated from the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica specializing in Production and with more than ten years of experience in audio postproduction, in 2018 she founded the Mexican company Disruptiva Films&Sound an independent Mexican production company focused on creating genre films with an authorial voice and a strong feminine perspective. In 2023, she was selected to participate in the Rotterdam Lab as part of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR). She produced HUESERA, the debut feature by Michelle Garza Cervera, which won the Best New Narrative Director Award and the Nora Ephron Award at Tribeca 2022; It won the Citizen Kane Award and the Blood Window Award for Best Ibero-American Film at the Sitges International Film Festival, the most important genre festival in the world, and the Audience Award at the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), among other 30 awards and mentions at national and international level, as well as four Ariel Awards, the highest award of the Mexican Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMACC) for: Best First Film, Best Screenplay, Best Special Effects and Best Makeup. Currently together with Marco Antonio Salgado they are producing THE MUGLUR the first feature fiction film by Lucila Las Heras selected in Blood Window Showcase part of the Marché du Film 2025. Paulina is also Producer of “THE INNOCENTS” by Germán Tejada recently awarded "Best Genre Film" at the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), and "Best Film" and "Best Director" at the 2025 Lima Film Festival (FCL).
