Jerónimo Labrada (born April 17, 1946 in Holguín, Cuba) is a sound engineer. In 1968, he began working as a sound recordist at ICAIC, after graduating from the Instituto de Telecomunicaciones y Electrónica. Between 1969 and 1973, he recorded most of the work of the ICAIC's Grupo de Experimentación Sonora, and albums by composers Pablo Milanés, Silvio Rodríguez, Leo Brouwer, Sergio Vitier, Frank Fernández, Sara González, Isabel Parra, Holly Near, among others. From 1975 to 1985, he was Head of the Recording Section of the ICAIC Sound Department. Since 1986, he has been part of the team that designs the teaching program at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV), where he began as a founding professor of the Sound Department. He also participated in the establishment of the Facultad Arte de los Medios de Comunicación Audiovisual (FAMCA), where he is an Associate Professor. In 1990, he represented EICTV in the creation of FEISAL (Federación de Escuelas de la Imagen y el Sonido de América Latina) in Mexico; since 1992, he has been a member of its Advisory Council, based in São Paulo.
