André Moniz Vieira (Funchal, 1995) is a filmmaker, photographer and video artist. His artistic work explores themes such as psychology, mysticism and human esotericism, using a unique introspective approach. Since the beginning of his career in 2017, he has built a diverse portfolio, which includes short films, documentaries, music videos and digital content. In cinema, his most notable projects include the short films Melodies of a Mute Life (2017), Húmus (2019), Dada (2019) and The Man Who Lost His Shadow (2026), screened at regional, national and international festivals. As a documentary filmmaker, he directed O Sol Marca A Sombra (2021) for the Cecília Zino Foundation, Romeiros do Curral (2021) and Entre As Veias da Cidade (2025), both in co-production with the Funchal City Council, Trégua (2022) in co-production with Casa Invisível, awarded the "Rehabilitation Qualities" prize at the Olsztyn International Film Festival "Prison Movie", in Poland, in 2023 and A Street with a Home Inside It (2025) in partnership with the Associação Cultural e Social das Ilhas. He also contributed as director of photography on projects such as Belmiro, Belmiro, Belmiro (2020) and Mad Dog Fever (2022), both directed by Luciano Moniz and Ladybug (2022) and The Inner Ramblings of Alan Grey (2025) by Teresa Correia. In October 2022, he founded Popsec Film Studio, a film production company focused on the documentary recording of events and artistic projects. With a constant commitment to quality and innovation, he continues to enrich the artistic collaborations in which he is involved, leaving a distinct mark on the cultural panorama of Madeira Island.
