
Sırrı Gültekin (July 27, 1924, Istanbul - February 7, 2008, Istanbul) was a Turkish actor, film director , screenwriter and film producer . Sırrı Gültekin, who started his art life in 1939 at Bakırköy Community Center , later joined the staff of City Theaters . After his theater acting, he entered the cinema in 1949 as an assistant to Sami Ayanoğlu . The artist, who was also influenced by Lütfi Akad , took part in a few films. Damat Beyefendi , shot in 1962 , is the only film in which he played the leading role. He started directing his own films from 1954 onwards, writing scripts after 1957, and producing after 1963. He made about 150 films. He worked in many collaborations with his childhood friend Bülent Oran. Gültekin, who was a member of the Film Directors Association and the president of the Filmsan Foundation , also directed TV series. Gültekin, who passed away in February 2008, was laid to rest in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
