
Thinley Lhamo is a Nepali-Tibetan actress known for her critically acclaimed performances in Nepali cinema. She rose to international prominence for her portrayal of Pema in Shambhala (2024), Nepal's official submission for the Academy Awards and an official selection at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale). She began her artistic journey with the Nepal Tibet Opera Association, where she developed a strong foundation in traditional stage performance. After refining her acting skills under renowned theatre practitioner Anup Baral, she was cast in the lead role of Shambhala, a film shot across the breathtaking and remote landscapes of Dolpo, Nepal. Her growing body of work has established her as one of the most promising talents in contemporary Nepali cinema.
