Marjane Satrapi (November 22, 1969 – June 4, 2026) was a French-Iranian graphic novellist, cartoonist, illustrator, film director, and children's book author. Her best-known works include the 2000–03 autobiographical graphic novel Persepolis and its 2007 film adaptation; the 2004 graphic novel Chicken with Plums and its 2011 film adaptation; the Ryan Reynolds black comedy The Voices (2014); and the Marie Curie biopic Radioactive (2019).
