Marc Camardons (2000, Andorra la Vella) is a director and film producer. He studied at ESCAC (Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya), where he completed a degree in Cinematography (2017-2020) and later specialized in the Master's program in Film Directing (2020-2022). Since 2023, he has been a director of the UllNu film festival, an event dedicated to promoting emerging audiovisual talent and contemporary creation. At the same time, he combines his work as a filmmaker with teaching, giving classes on cinema and queer theory in audiovisuals, an area where he also focuses much of his research and artistic production. He began his audiovisual career with the short film Estàtua de sal (Pile of salt, 2021), where he reflects on the desire for belonging and self-discovery through sexuality, themes that recur in his filmography. With his subsequent projects, Crisàlides (Chrysalides, 2022), Traca (Banger, 2024), and L'últim mort (The last dead, 2024), he experiments with new narrative forms, placing special emphasis on his place of origin and family roots. The exploration of queer identity and the reclamation of difference become central themes in his work, with characters moving through spaces of transformation and personal discovery. This research culminates with his latest short film Per bruixa i metzinera (The sorceress echo) premiered at La Cinef 2025, the official section of the Cannes Film Festival. A piece that delves into rural memory and popular legends, focusing on family tradition and the reinterpretation of a collective past. He is currently working on the development of the script for his first feature film.
