He was born in Zulfi Governorate and grew up in a conservative environment. In his childhood, he began playing the lute and recording songs. His artistic debut was through the song Sikka Safar album in 1982 with Dun Dawn Art Production. The song Sikka Safar was composed by the late Rashid Al-Khidr and written by Abdul Latif Al-Bannai. He has in his artistic balance today more than 26 albums during his artistic career since 1980. He also owns the Tarban Studio for Lyrical Records and the Tarban Studio, which he opened on January 18, 2009 in the Jabriya area. During his career, he presented many songs, most notably Sekkat Safar, Mansak, Daloua, Jani, Ba'adhaak. He is considered the first Gulf singer to leave the region and sing in different Arabic dialects such as the Egyptian, Moroccan and Lebanese dialects. He has effectively contributed to introducing Gulf songs and their unique rhythms throughout the Arab world. The poet "Mubarak Al-Hudaybi" was credited with his fame and first teacher, and he also owes him the credit for his stardom for standing by him in his artistic beginnings and for cooperating with him in a large number of his songs, which achieved great success.
