Gerd Lohmeyer (born February 10, 1945, in Würzburg) is a German actor and director. Gerd Lohmeyer grew up in Nabburg and studied performing arts from 1967 to 1970 at what is now the Berlin University of the Arts. While still a student, he took on his first film roles, including parts in *Morgens um sieben ist die Welt noch in Ordnung* and *Die Feuerzangenbowle*, directed by Helmut Käutner. Subsequently, for many years, he focused primarily on his theater work, performing at venues such as the Bavarian State Theater (*Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel*), the Munich Kammerspiele, the Munich Volkstheater, and other major stages throughout the German-speaking world. Beginning in the late 1980s, Lohmeyer appeared with increasing frequency in film and television productions. He acted in numerous well-known series, including *Ein Haus in der Toscana*, *Café Meineid*, *Die Rosenheim-Cops*, *Der Bulle von Tölz*, *Lindenstraße*, and *Tatort*. On the big screen, his credits include *Der Schuh des Manitu* by Michael Herbig and *Kirschblüten – Hanami* by Doris Dörrie. Alongside his acting career, Lohmeyer has also worked as a theater director since the late 1990s, staging productions at venues such as the Munich Kammerspiele and the TamS Theater. He has taught acting since 1992 and has served as a lecturer at the Bavarian Theater Academy since 1995. He also reached a broad audience through his long-running role as Michael Gerstl in the series *Dahoam is Dahoam*, which he played from 2009 to 2023. He lives in Munich with his wife, the actress Monika Manz.
