Desiré Delano (Desi) Bouterse (Domburg, 13 October 1945 – presumably in Copi Nature Reserve, 23 December 2024) was a Surinamese army leader, multiple coup plotter, dictator and politician. He was convicted of international drug trafficking and as the main perpetrator of the December Murders.
