The students are playing make believe, each pretending who they want to be. Scott, who was proudly pretending to be a super hero named Super Scott, all of a sudden becomes withdrawn and hides under a table. It's because some of the other kids started teasing him about his cape in reality being his "blankie", their taunts being that only babies have blankies.
